There is no one-size-fits-all option when it comes to engines, so when MBE set about creating the ultimate cylinder head for LS7 engines, it decided that the best option was actually two different designs.
MBE’s Small LS7 heads are a great option for dirt oval racing (like Super Late Models) as well as street/strip cars. Even though it is referred to as a “small port”, that’s only in relation to MBE’s LS7 option for all-out drag racing. This head flows an incredible 400 cfm through the intake ports and approximately 270 through the exhausts - yet the ports are still properly sized to provide excellent throttle response and maximum acceleration. This head works best with engines that have a cylinder bore up to 4.060 inches in diameter.
MBE’s Small LS7 head utilizes a casting supplied by Brodix specifically for MBE. Both the intake and exhaust ports are raised. The valves are on a 12 degree angle, and the intakes are sized at 2.200 inches while the exhausts are 1.610. The intake seat angle is 45 degrees to provide plenty of airflow past the valve while also maintaining a long seat life. Best of all, these heads receive the same quality CNC machine work and hand finishing that MBE does on its Pro Mod, Top Fuel, and Billet cylinder heads.
